MOAB INTERAGENCY FIRE
CENTER
- The Moab Interagency Fire Center
represents the four wildland fire agencies in Southeastern Utah,
providing resource coordination between the U.S. Forest Service Manti-La
Sal National Forest; Division of Forestry, Fire and State
Lands Southeast
Utah Area; the Bureau of Land Management Moab, Price and Monticello Field Offices; and the
National Park Service Southeast Utah Group. Additionally, we work closely with
our cooperators throughout Utah and
western Colorado.
- Our dispatch area involves nearly
10 million acres of terrain that ranges from grasslands at 4000 feet to
forested lands above 10,000 feet in elevation. Land status throughout
the area is highly fragmented.
- Our resources include; three 5
person crews, 11 engines, and a Type 3 Helicopter with helitack. We
respond to an average of 400 incidents per year, with a fire season
that extends from March through October.
