This home has very little defensible space. Because the trees are so close to the home, in case of a wildfire, very little could be done to stop a fire from consuming this home.	This neighborhood is nestled into the foothills of a mountain range. This depicts what remains of the home that have been burned by a wildfire.

Much of the Great Basin is considered a high fire hazard environment. Based on past experience, this area possesses all the ingredients necessary to support large, intense, and uncontrollable wildfires.

Within this hazardous environment, there are individual houses, subdivisions, and entire communities.

Many of these homeowners, however, are ill prepared to survive an intense wildfire. Since it is not a question of "if" a wildfire will occure but "when", the likelihood of human life and property loss is great and growing.
