Check Your Roof:
The roof is the most vulnerable part of the house.
Replace flammable wood shingles with fire resistant roofing.
Remove branches over the roof, under the eaves, and within 15 feet of the chimney.
Install a chimney spark arrestor.
Inspect and clean your roof twice a year.
